What You’ll DoThe Data Operations department provides data management, integration, and reporting services for multiple external and internal consumers. The Clinical Data Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of clinical data management that support Carina’s production services. Candidate must have experience in Microsoft SQL database development, clinical data integration, ETL (extract, transform and load) tools and methods, analytics, reporting, and documentation. Provide development and maintenance support for clinical data integrations between systems. Successfully utilize data standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD, CCR and claims data. Integrate standard healthcare code sets like LOINC, ICD9/10, CPT4 and SNOMED. Provide development and maintenance support for the EDW and supporting databases. Provide automated solutions whenever possible and proactively suggest alternative solutions. Assist in the development of new databases and associated processes as necessary. Provide data analytics report development for specific projects as needed. Develop data validation reports and analysis where applicable. Develop technical documentation of data integrations and processes. Communicate and collaborate with other team members and clients to develop innovative data solutions. Utilize up-to-date knowledge of databases and data quality best practices to produce effective solutions. Remain knowledgeable in healthcare data standards, measures, and code sets as well as applicable data privacy practices and legal requirements. What We’re Looking ForBachelor's degree in data analytics, public health, or a related field preferred or equivalent in experience Works in a SQL environment, especially with data transformation, stored procedures, and query development. Knowledge of data warehousing best practices, concepts and processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated change management experience. Demonstrated ability to set and meet project timelines and deliverables. Effective interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to interact with various levels of personnel. Is flexible, organized, self-directed, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and able to manage a full workload. Experienced in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Operating Systems. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability. Strong business and technical writing abilities. Experience working in Snowflake Cloud Database. Experience in Python, JavaScript, and/or C#, and familiarity with REST API connections. Knowledge of IHI triple aim, clinical quality improvement, and primary care operations and workflows. Ability to attend conferences and workshops for further education to expand and improve management skills. Fluency in written and spoken English.
